Teams sometimes hold open tryouts, which you can attend. The most common way a player makes it, is getting a scholorship to an American University, and then getting drafted by a team. Once you work your way up the minor league systems, with any luck, you'll get to the Majors.

You can try out for a team at a major league tryout day. The best way to become a pro, is to go to college and put up great statistics so that you'll be drafted by a team.
