Use compost to fertilize your garden and apply talcum powder or soapy water to get rid of insects. To help keep your plants moist, use straw or grass clippings.

To become a green gardener, you should check what equipment and manures you use. You should not only use natural, chemical free manures, but also take some new steps in your daily work. For example, leaves can be used as a source for a compost – a natural digest.

You need to go to a school for that. Some form of instruction is needed for that. You learn a bit about landscaping and gardening.

First step is in reducing your water usage. Be aware of what you use, and try to find a way to collect and 're-use' water that runs off. Always use have a compost pile. Mix your own soil with dirt on your land and your compost. Use 'good' bugs instead of pesticides. And mostly, study all you can about 'green-growing'.
