For a new passport (not a renewal) it will cost $145. You can actually apply for them at your local post office.

Just visit your government website and then click on the passport section and check for the address of your local passport jurisdiction destination. Then take your social insurance card as well as two government approved ID's to make your passport. The cost for the passport is about 35 dollars or so.
