Preset assumptions can skew one's ability to effectively sort fact from fiction. Sometimes we believe what we want to believe, even if it flies in the face of reason.

Assumption is just a hypothesis. Its quite subjective. But they can appear irrational for other until its not objective. Einstein encouraged more imagination. Its the imagination that matter a lot. One can make lot of assumption. But they have to provide evidence for it.

All sorts of critical thinking based on assumptions leading to many new inventiions.The logical conclusions are arrived only after assuming the means to reach the end point.
