How deadly is the rotavirus?

In severe attacks, this can require intravenous administration of solutions in the hospital. There is no therapeutic medication, but vaccines are being developed. It is not considered a deadly virus.

The rotavirus which causes mild to severe diarrhea, is actually quite common in young children. It's the resulting dehydration which causes the most concern for them. It's moore of an issue in 3rd world countries where there is a lack of clean water and nutrition.
