Usually if a diamond is rather large you can tell if it's real or not by it's clarity. If it looks flawless and perfect then it probably is too good to be true. Have it tested by a pro. If you find it might seem a bit cloudy or may look like it posses a scratch then it's probably real.

There are several ways to tell if a diamond is real, the first being that it will not tarnish, or turn your finger green, since real diamond is always set in sterling silver. The second is that if you breath on it, real diamonds will not fog over like glass.
