This person is really insecure. One approach is to include her and make her feel accepted by the group so she has less incentive to tattle. Ask her questions and make her feel smart. Another approach is to shun her, avoid her, and give her nothing to tattle about.

Everyone needs to stop telling her/him anything, for starters. Some folks would reccomend being honest and having a heart to heart, perhaps with several of you at once. I would probably be a little more devious and plant some incorrect information, perhaps something that could backfire when it turned out to be untrue.

One way is to confront that person and say that his/her bahavior is proving nefast to the overall work ambiance. Another way is to leave that problem with the Personnel Manager, and to do your work ignoring that person.
