How can I tell if my Kenmore dryer needs a new heating coil?

When our dryers only heat our clothes but do not dry then we need a new heating coil. After a long time of use the machine can go down so we should check its power supply also.

Next time you do a drying cycle remove the exhaust vent from the dryer that goes to the outside of the house from the dryer itself. If the dryer dries the clothes properly it is a clog in the vent. If not, it is a heating coil or ignition fault.

If your dryer spins but doesn't get hot enough to dry your clothes and you are left with a bunch of damp clothing you need a new heating coil.

If it is not heating up while drying and possibly not even drying your clothes, check the lint screen first. Most likely thought, it will be the heating coal. A call to a certified service technician would be wise.

Turn breaker to dryer off & on. Test dryer for heat. If none, coil probably has a break preventing the dryer from getting hot. Assume it needs new heating coil.
