The only sure way in early stages is with an ultrasound. Pregnant sows start drinking more by week 3 (gestation is ~60 days), gain weight quickly (you should be weighing weekly anyway) and bulge around the hips- occasionally there is some thinning of hair around the haunches. Handle pregnat sows with care! Pregnancy is always dangerous, especially after 8 months.

If your GP is caged with a male GP, she is likely pregnant. GPs breed year round. You will notice a copulatory plug in the vagina. Her lower abdomen will increase and she will make a nest as the time nears. Separate the male before the babies are borne.

Gestation is 54-70 days, but it is hard to tell until shortly before birth. She will start drinking more, will get sensitive about her tummy and her abdomen will swell.

Gestation period is approximately 2 months - hard to spot until later on in the pregancy. Check for an increase in drinking and weight gain (always weigh your pig weekly). Eventually you will feel the babies moving around, but be gentle and don't handle often. OR see an exotics vet.

The first signs is she will start drinking more. After that she will start to gain weight and her nipples will start to swell.

They may drink more, starting gaining weight looking "thick". Their abdomens may appear to have a thickness about them. Right before birth, the guinea pig will have enlarged nipples.

Turn your guinea pig on it's back and feel the lower stomach. If you feel two hard egg shaped lumps then your guinea pig is most likely pregnant.

The guinea pig will have a bigger belly, will probably be less active, be eating more, and will of had to be with a male guinea pig in the same cage at one point. If this is the case you can pick up the guinea pig and gently feel around the abdomen for movement.
