How can I tell if my computer can run certain programs?

All software programs/packages come with minimum system requirements either on the package or is available off the website of the product. Compare your system configuration with these minimum requirements. For example if requirement is 512MB RAM you have 2GB RAM you would be able to run the program.

If you are running Windows, you can normally find most of your specifications by right-clicking on the 'My Computer' icon and selecting 'Properties. ' You may also use a program such as SIW to list the specifications of the computer. Simply compare these with the published recommended specifications for the program.
