How can I tell if my betta fish is male or female?

Male Betta fish are more colorful and have longer fins than females. If you've purchased your Betta fish from a pet store it is most likely a male.

i have two betas in the same tank they have a divider but the male has an egg sack .If some of the bubbles go to the female side will they produce babbies.
