Keep the pet's surroundings clean and try to avoid stress - which can cause an outbreak of mites. Also, separate any suspected cases from other pets to keep them contained as much as possible.

You can clean the inside of the ears with q tips , also there is a wet solution sold at most vets and feed stores.

Ear mites in outside pets can be hard to prevent. However, by keeping the animals ears clean and dry after bathing will help. Also keep the cats bedding clean.

You need to make sure the ear is kept clean. If an animal already has ear mites then you should get medication for the ear. If the animals ear is wet then this could be a reason why it is getting ear mites. If you take good care of your pet and bathe it often then it should be fine.

The best way to prevent ear mites is to regularly bathe the animal and clean their ears out often, at least once or twice a week. There are some powders you can use, but do so sparingly. Keep the dog out of very dirty areas.

Look for a good ear drop for your pet. If Mites are a regular problem try preventatives regularly to keep them in check.
