Answer by  johnresa (2455)

There are books you can buy that will teach you how to make sushi at home. The books usually come with some of the items you need. One thing you need to be sure to do is to buy sushi grade fish because not all fish is suitable for being eaten raw.

First you must cook the rice until it is tender. Next you lay some rice on your bamboo mat, on top of that you lay the raw fish or shrimp on top of that. Than you roll the bamboo up with the rice and meat inside Next you lay it on the palte sprinkle with soy sauce. Enjoy.

Get yourself some kelp/seaweed wraps. Top the wrap with a thin layer of cooked rice, and then lay strips of your choice of fish down the center. Roll the wrap over ONCE to make a miniature log, and section that off. Cut it into 1"-1.5" sections until you reach the end of the roll.

I've done this, and it's easier if you buy a sushi making kit- it has a mat that makes rolling much easier. Be aware you MUST buy sushi quality fish.

Well there is a variety of sushi out there and pretty much all of it can be made by you at home. Look online for recipes on how to make each of the variety. The key to making sushi is the rice itself. You need a particular type of long grain rice that you coat to make the sushi.
