How can I lose 40 pounds in about 50 days for football tryouts?

I'm about 180 and need to lose some weight.

What will be important is where your weight is located. Any crash diet will take away muscle along with fat. Certainly, cut down or eliminate sodas and carbohydrates. Concentrate on protein, but try for lean meats. Next, run and lift weights the same as if football practice were already started. If you're in shape, actual weight won't matter.

Losing 40 pounds in less that two months is incredibly dangerous and should not be attempted. Speak with a health care professional regarding weight loss.

The best way to lose a significant amount of weight with little more than a month for time is simple: eat less and excercise more. This should be a daily practice, no breaks, no luxuries.
