How can I keep my sump pump drainage area dry?

I would dig a new channel in the drainage area that will not stay dry. I also look into maybe a french drain system which is used in landscaping business. The french drain system may provide you with several ideas that may work too. I would always maybe consult with a someone in your local home improvement store for ideas.

This will require a little imagination to solve but the results will be worth it. Construct a tower adjacent to the sump strong enough to support a lens about three feet across. Go on line and ask some MIT Freshman to design you a sun tracking system. Once that is installed you should be home free.

Well to keep it dry, just make sure you suck out the water every now and then. Place the cloth around the area so that it does not drain too often or buy a filter.

A good thing to do, especially in a basement where water tends to collect, is to use a dehumidifier. This will solve the problem.
