There's no installation necessary. Once you plug the device into your iPod, everything integrates itself automatically. So you don't even need to do anything yourself, just plug it in and make sure you get the right model.

Just follow what is prompted to you by the installation CD, most installs like this are fairly easy and straight forward. For electronic questions like this i would refer to either the user manual or consult a trained and licensed electronics expert, as there are many types, and this is broad.

All you need to do is connect it to the bottom of the charger port, select a radio station that is complete static, press play and enjoy.
