You need to talk to your vet about possible options to help your cat. One of the easiest and most effective things is to give your cat Sub-Q fluids - fluids injected under the skin. Your vet can also prescribe medication and there are special prescription foods that help with kidney failure.

Not much can be done, although there are special foods for kidney problems and medications you can get from the vet.

Unfortunately kidney damage is irreversible. The delicate and thin membranes of the nephron and glomerulus are hard to renegerate. In humans with kidney failure treatment is with transplantation or long term dialysis. Without treatment, the outcome is usually death. With kidney failure, it is important to watch your fluid and salt intake.

Feed the cat aloe vera and fish oil as part of their daily diet every day of their life. Provide plenty of water.

Kidney failure is a progressive problem for which there is no cure. Most importantly, allow the cat to eat as much as he/she is willing to eat and keep him/her hyrated even if it means getting the vet to give fluids intravenously. Supplements with Omega-3 fatty acids and antioxidants may also help.

I would suggest providing your cat with soft food that is of high quality. I think giving your low quality food might her the cat in the longrun.

You can only do what your vet prescribes. I'm sorry, but he may not get over it, and all you can do is give him love and comfort.

The first thing to do is dietary changes. You can switch the cat to prescription food for cats with kidney disease. You can dilute their canned food so it looks a bit soupy. In more advanced cases, the cat will benefit from subcutaneous fluids. The vet can set you up.
