Self Publishing is a way to get books published yet it has it's draw backs. Companies like Amazon and others provide mechanisms to accomplish this. The drawback is that you will then need to market the book yourself. When using a publisher, they do this for you.

Get connected to a publisher who will evaluate your work and from his point of view he should be able to tell if it is ripe for publishing. If found fit,you can easily sign a contract with him or get direction as to whom can publish and the rest of the work is taken by the publisher.

Print the pages and call a pulbisher who deals in mysteries. You can a list of publishers in the library in mystery books. Send them the book and wait to hear from them. I would not give up. Or it could be a good movie.
