Depending on the model of the gas trimmer you will need to get the screw removed where the carburetor is located and remove any excess broken pieces. You will then need to get the new carburetor and attach.

You may just need to clean out the jets, this can be done by soaking with gas, maybe the lines have corroded or broken off- if it is the carb itself, and it is just played, it may be cheaper to just go buy a new trimmer- there are sites online to walk you through all the repairs on these.

You will need to get or make a replacement carburetor for the trimmer. The carb is basically a combustion chamber, you could fasion one out of a tomoto paste can.

Purchasing a repair kit will help you replace the gas carburetor, you can replace it easily without having to pay for an new gas trimmer. By cleaning and replacing your trimmer would be good as new.
