You could try calling the company (e. g. nestle, mars, cadbury), or check their website for listed products. Some specialty candy stores sell rare sweets, too.
The easiest way to find out if that candy is still being made is to search for it on a search engine. See what results come up and do a little investigating. If you have not seen it in 20 years then it may only be available from the company that makes it and not in any stores.
