It depends what size you are. While stores such as Banana Republic and J.Crew don't cater to the plus-size crowd, you can find many plus-size party options at Macy's or Nordstrom. If those are too small however, you may want to try Lane Bryant, a store that specializes in plus-size clothing.

Some major department stores have larger sizes in their dress areas. Lane Bryant and Fashion Bug carry plus sizes. Check Pennys, Kohls, and Sears. Scour the malls and internet. Macys is a good store to check.

"Deb" would be your best bet. They sell a wide range of dresses- Torrid is good as well.
