There are several sites online that will allow you to send in some of your dog's urine to test his breed. These sites are scams and just guess.

If the dog is registered with your country's kennel club (CKC or AKC, for example) you can contact them. There are also pedigree databases available for some breeds- search "(dog breed) + pedigree database". The simplest way is to contact your breeder and ask for a copy of the pedigree.

If your dog came from a breeder, even if you don't have papers, your breeder does and should be happy to help you. If your dog is a mix, but you know who bred him, ask them, they may have some bloodlines. If you've a parent name, check the AKC.

Pedigree will come on the registration papers, if those are available. However, if the parents are registered, you can contact the AKC or other organization to find out.

There are many products on the market that offer a dna-based diagnostic test to check for your dog's heritage. This usually satifies mixed breed curiosity. You can also ask a trained professional or vet for their opinion.

You will have to go to the breeder of the dog. The breeder is supposed to keep careful papers of puppies and their parents. This is where your search starts.

If the dog is registered look on the paperwork it will be on there or you can go to the vet and do blood testing for it.
