They are considered a large breed dog cause they can get anywhere from 45-90 lbs. Depends on the size of the parents but usually males are bigger. If you're worried about them with your child it just takes proper socialization from when they are a puppy and they can even go on to protect your child.

Rottweilers are gentle yet they can become a prety big dog. They can range from 90 to 150 lbs or more dependng on sex and diet. They are playful and like to play rough at times. I recommend a smaller dog for your toddler.Rotties somtimes don't know their own strength

Most will be in the 90-120 lb range. Rottweilers can be great family pets, but the size should be considered if it's going to be a toddler's playmate.

Rottweilers can get to be 80 - 120 pounds. They are an extra large breed, but they are very gentle giants. I had one when my son was born and he let my son bounce on his head and ride on his back. They are great family dogs not just guard dogs.
