Marbles were previously made by hand but can now be made in a variety of ways. I believe the most common method is to cool molten glass in a continuously moving mould until it hardens. It is then typically polished off the ensure a perfect spherical shape.
shooting marbles are made using different materials, but mostly glass. They are either hand-made or using machines. Materials are set in to molds then rolled into balls with some refinement.
