Canada speed limits are based on the metric system and the Unites States uses the imperial English system. It is a requirement for vehicles in Canada to have their lights on while operating it. In the United States, some states only require headlight use only at night and while it is raining. Cell phone use varies per locality.

Driving Laws are different in Canada than the US because in Canada you are not allowed to use radar detectors and the the speed limit is in Metric. Another thing is People in Canada during a green light make a stop before going still and lots of people run red lights.

One thing though we have here in Quebec - you can't turn on right on the red light but everywhere else in North America you can. There are also different driving ages in different provinces - mostly 16, but in Alberta it is 14. I think in Texas it is also different. In US speed limit is different from Canadian.

Distances and speeds are posted in Kilometers. Many areas speed limits are slightly lower that in the U. S. Motorcycles and autos cannot share lanes. Many times safety vehicles such as ambulances and fire trucks WILL enter on coming lanes to avoid traffic. DWI IS a criminal offense in Canada.
