Your older carbeurated engines were not too accurate. The new computer controlled engines can keep the air/fuel ratio right around the stoichiometric or ideal ratio of 14.7:1.

Fuel air metering is one of the most accurate types of metering available. You should be able to trust the numbers.

Fuel air meetring is very accurate because it specfically measures the air pressure in your car. Its not very specific , but it can be close to the fuel meter
