It is my personal experience that water in a plastic bag does not provide any type of insect control. I have heard this "remedy" all of my life, so I decided to try it last summer. I live in the country where there are numerous flies. I placed a bag at each door and it does not work.

It is not proven that water in a plastic bag really provides fly control. There are a lot of places that use it and claim that it really works. Water is placed in sealed plastic bags and then hung around the area that you are wanting to keep the flies out of.

It seemed to work great at the restaurant I worked at, but I didn't have the same results at home. Research suggests lighting may be a reason for this.
