HPV can visiibly manifest in the form of genital warts. They may disappear with or without treatment, often depending on the health of your immune system and or the strain of HPV contracted. However, the virus wil remain in your system for the rest of your life regardless of symptoms.

HPV in men are typically the least dangerous and may easily clear itself without any need for medical intervention, however, for women, it can cause cancer of the cervix in which it's best to seek treatment for HPV as soon as you know you have it. A woman leaving HPV untreated increases risk of cancer.
