Teisco, a japanese manufacturer of musical instruments produced several affordable bass guitars. They produced their first bass guitars in 1960, which were the P-1, T-60 and EB-1 models. These designs had similarities with Fender models.

Yes Teisco did make a bass guitar. The first few models came out in 1960 they are the EB-1, T-60 and the P1. They looks close to the Fender Bass.
