Does DSL's distance from the hub affect your service?

Yes, it does. Main reason is electrical resistance in copper wires (in cables) which are connecting you to the hub. Mainly, downside service effect occurs because signal (electric current) has to travel greater amount of time over greater distance. Different copper wire gauges offer different distance limit. It may vary from 3 to 4 miles.

Yes, DSL's service is affected by the distance from the Exchange or Hub. This is caused by the degradation of the signal quality. The limit is approx 18,000, however at this distance speeds will be dramatically reduced. Voice calls over the same wires don't have this problem through the use amplifiers, which DSL is unfortunately incompatible with.

Yes, it definately affects your service. Personally, I have the same problem. When it's near to the hub the more speedy will be your service. My advice is that your service will be faster when it's near to the hub.

Yes, the farther you get from the Hub, the less reliable the internet service becomes, and the slower it is also.
