well really there is no way to speed up your connection aside from up grading your internet speed through your isp. If the only have one speed then you may need to switch providers. It may be possible to gain speed through upgrading your modem in some cases.

DSL has a maximum speed of around 512 mega bytes. You cannot exceed that value because the medium used to send the information simply does not support it. Try to change you Internet Service Provider to that of your friends'.

DSL speed often depends on how far you are from the nearest "hub". The closer you are, the better your service. Contact your service provider to see about increasing service.
