Does bleach kill mold?

Answer by  GilFinn (2065)

The chlorine in bleach will kill mold, but bleach is mostly water, and that will actually cause mold to get worse. The best way to get rid of mold is to remove the source of it's growth (i.e. water leaks, condensation, etc.).

Absolutely. Bleach, hypochlorite is a very strong oxidizer killing almost every living thing it comes into contact with. Bleach solutions are often used to disinfect in the food service and medical industries.
