Does a record collector's guide tell you the value of vinyl records?

Yes they do however their prices are guided by the amount certain records bring at auctions and based on the frequency of certain records appearing everyday in the open market.

As a vinyl collector, a guide will only give you a rough estimate, and other good information. This will often tell you how rare an item is, but many times the value of the record is based on the type of purchaser you have or the week it is sold.

Not only that, it will also tell you the value based on the cover and condition. Everything from the condition of the record/label to the condition of the cover matters.
