I keep bread in the fridge to extend its shelf life. Put it on a plate and cover the slices with a napkin and let them come to room temperature before eating, or pop the slices in the toaster. Refrigeration does not affect the taste, only the temperature.

You can definitely put bread in the refrigerator. Because of the temperature difference, the bread will keep for longer, and it isn't likely to lose flavor. However, bread kept in the refrigerator does tend to dry out easily. If you keep it in the freezer, and then warm it, you might have better results.

Yes, we keep bread in the fridge as well as the freezer. Since we live 30 minutes away from the grocery store, we do a lot of shopping at once. If you put it in the fridge, take it out before you eat it to thaw it a bit.
