This depends on the state you live in. Most states do not require a test to renew a driver's license. They normally mail a renewal form to you, and require the payment of a fee before a new license is issued. This can vary from state to state, however. Also, this can vary based on the driver.

Not usually. There are circumstances where you will have to at least come in and update information/photos, or take a written exam in certain situations. It used to cost $20.
