Do they still teach cursive writing to kids?

Yes, they do and I don't know anyone that does not use cursive everyday in their work. The computer is taking over but checks, writing letters, essays etc are still in cursive. It takes longer to print then it does to write.

Children are still taught cursive writing in elementary school beginning in second grade and then improving skills up until about fifth grade where they will start using cursive writing when writing papers and in journals. All three of my daughters were taught cursive, but in the case of my ten year old, it's not a huge part of the curriculum.
