Precious Moments figurines are still being made and are still being sold in gift shops across the country. There are many different types now, but still include the popular tear-drop eyed children and animals. These figurines started out as drawings by Sam Butcher as gifts for his family and friends about thirty years ago.

Sam J Butcher created the Precious Moments characters to tell people about God's love. First, they were on greeting cards. The figurines were first sold in 1978. Figurines and other products from the company are still being made.
