Do rabbits dig in dirt?

I think my rabbit dug a hole in the dirt.

Rabbits do like to dig. Wild hares and rabbits live in burrows; moreover, European rabbits live in underground burrows. Since rabbits are social animals, they live in a group of burrows, known as a warren. Therefore, it is not surprising if the domestic rabbit digs in the dirt when it has a chance.

Yes, rabbits will dig holes in the dirt. If you have your rabbit in an outdoor pen where he is touching the ground he will probably dig a dirt to try to get out of the pen he is in. Rabbits just like to roam around all over the place.
