In my opinion, an apprenticeship is vital for a career such as that of a tattoo artist. It is extremely vital for one interested in pursuing this career path to observe and get hands-on experience working with an experienced and established tattoo artist who knows about exceptional customer service, sterilization, and tattooing technique

You are required to be an apprentice before receiving a tattoo license. You have to able to shadow a licensed tattoo artist to learn the craft and OSHA regulations.

No you don't, you just need to be a good artist, have a steady hand, and be good with a needle.
