Yes, you may need a lawyer if you want to sue the person that ran over your dog. Or you could act as your own lawyer but that can be dfficult.

You can sue without a lawyer in small claims court if your losses are under $5000 (usually. ) But your recovery will probably be limited to what you paid for thedog.

It depends. If you want to sue the person who ran over your dog, a lawyer would be useful. Otherwise, one is not needed.

The first step is to contact the driver and request compensation for the dog. If they do not respond, file with their auto insurance for "property damage" for compensation for the pet. The next option is a lawyer.

If you want to sue someone for damages then you should probably seek a lawyer's assistance. If you aren't going to sue them then no.

This depends on what you want to do about the incedent. If you want to sue for damages, small claims court may be sufficient (no lawyer required).
