First check to see if another monitor will show lines when connected to that computer. If line do not show up it is a bad LCD. If lines are still there I recommend trying to install newest driver for the graphics card. If still present replace graphics card.

Probably, but check first all the cable (video cable and power cable of monitor). If the problem still here then try to use new cables. Try to use the mother board video card (if you are using already this one, don't do this step). If the problem still here try a new video card.

Check the connection from the monitor to video card first, then check the connection from the video card to the motherboard,if both are good, try moving the cable. if the lines change,it is the cable,if they stay there,it's either the video card or possibly bad ram, especially if the computer has integrated graphics.

Either it may be due to faulty video card or faulty monitor. To confirm this, Connect the CPU with another monitor, and if the complaint still exist, then it will be due to faulty video card. If there is no vertical lines on monitor then your monitor is complaint.

well it depends. it could be a monitor problem too or even a magnetic field problem! try to move your monitor and see if stripes move or change anyhow.

It is possible that your graphics card might be going bad or it might just be overheating. A magnet near your hard drive could cause lines as well. You may try to degauss your monitor if it is possible with the monitor's buttons.
