Dogs do see in color. How they see the colors is different from that of humans. For example, dogs cannot tell the difference between orange, green, red or yellow. They see blues, purples, and greys well. They can however see the difference between yellow and blue. The visual spectrum that dogs see is divided into two color hues.

Dogs can see colors, but have a much narrower spectrum than their human friends. They are limited to shades of yellow, blue, purple, and gray.

Dogs do some colors, but not nearly as well as humans do. Dogs only see a few colors in the light spectrum. The reason for this is that in the wild it helps them hunt by seeing quick movement better.
