Do braces hurt?

There are times when braces are uncomfortable such as when you first get them and when they get adjusted, but this discomfort is temporary and will go away. Sometimes you might feel pain in the soft tissue of your mouth (inside of lips) but you can get dental wax to cover the braces and that will go away.

When you first get braces, it will be sore for a little while, but as time progresses, the pain will reduce. When you get your braces replaced, it will feel kind of sore and then it will go away. It is not painful all of the time. You will eventually have some kind of relief.

I do not know that by experience since I have not used braces myself. Some young people in my family still use them and they do not seem to hurt them or be uncomfortable
