Do arranged marriages work?

They can work, if the two parties are committed. Attraction is what happens at first sight, love is built and developed. Attraction doesn't imply love, but love can make you attracted. So, if you work on it with each other, it has a good chance of working out. The main downside is that you may not be attracted immediately.

Arranged marriages can be comfortable, and familiarity over time may even make the heart grow very fond. But these "successes" hinge on the couple having been raised in a culture in which they expect an arranged marriage and are not comparing it continuously to free choice. While these marriages may help people get together, the risk is serious incompatibility.

They start off on a very shaky premise - the people involved have no feelings for each other. However, over time some kind of affection may develop.

I think that there are pros and cons to an arranged marriage and I also think that most of the time they might work.
