No life--sentient or not--has been confirmed to exist outside of Earth's biosphere. As vast as the universe is, I am sure other planets orbiting other stars somewhere also harbor objects we would consider alive. Given all the variables and monumental distances involved, I doubt that any sentient alien could be mistaken for human, or indeed have made it here.
