Soviet Russian supersonic airplane called the Tupolev 144 which has been nicknamed Concordski used to carry only cargo. But during 1973 at a air show Concordski crashed and after that situation its design went again to the drawing board. In 1977 there were plans to start passenger flights but another crash halted its manufacturing.

The Russian Tupolev 144 crashed during a 1973 air show in Paris. Up until then the plane had only carried cargo. After the crash, the design went back to the drawing board. In 1977, plans were in place to begin passenger flights. Another crash that year tabled the plans. In 1985, manufacturing was halted and the design was abandoned.

The Concorde did fly commercially for many years between Paris, Heathrow, and New York up until a few years ago when the flights were stopped due to a fatal crash on take off. Alas, the "Concordski", the subject of numerous ethnic jokes never made it off the ground.
