Josh Gibson is perhaps the greatest and most powerful hitter in the history of professional baseball. In one 137 game season, which is 25 games less than a normal Major League season today, he batted. 467 and hit 55 home runs. Multiple sources including opposing infielder Jack Marshall confirmed Gibson hit a home run out of Yankee Stadium.

Josh Gibson was a great baseball player in the Negro League and there is no such thing as "accurate" records. There is a story, repeated numerous times by Chicago American Giants player Jack Marshall, who said Gibson hit one over the third level deck, next to the bullpen in left field, of Yankee Station in 1934.

Josh Gibson's longest hit in Yankee Stadium was a 460-foot homer -- into centerfield seats, but not out of the park. Nobody else has either, though Mickey Mantle came close.

No, no person has been known to hit a baseball out of yankee stadium. However, in the 2008 homerun derby, the last year of old yankee stadium, Josh Hamilton tested that as he belted 28 home runs including a few that flew into the night sky and almost were able to leave the ball park.
