Could a problem with the eec iii be causing a stalling problem with my car?

Yes, it could be your problem, but that wouldn't be my first guess. Most likely it could be the mass air flow sensor, catalytic converter, or fuses under the hood. I would check those things first.

It could be possible since that controls the functioning of the engine. You could try swapping it out for another one and see if that helps. Otherwise there may be codes stored on it to indicate what else may be causing the car top stall.
