Preparing Shabbat food in a crock pot would be perfectly fine. There are many kosher meals that can be cooked in one. However, you must have a recipe that takes hours to cook. You can look for recipes online or try to find a cookbook to find these recipes.

Yes put the food on to cook before sundown Friday. Also if you have a timer set itfor shabbat time, place the food in it and let it cook.

In short, no. This can be a tricky subject, but there can be no cooking on the Shabbat. All foods consumed have to have been precooked and can be kept warm on a belch, but since a crock pot is used for cooking, it is prohibited.

Yes you can use a crock pot for just about anything that you would like to cook at home over a period of time.

Yes, as long as you put the food into the crock and turn it on before Shabbat begins, and leave the crock pot on until after Shabbat ends.
