for safety reasons, do not bury the dog near ground water. Bury the dog about three feet deep and without any non-biodegradable objects.

Bury it somewhere that isn't going to be dug up anytime. Make sure you dig the hole deep so you can't smell the rotting corpse.

Unfortunately I've been here before. The best way to bury a dog is to bury it at least 6" deep. This will prevent bones from resurfacing over time. Call Miss Utility and have the area marked for utilities before you dig. Then bury your dog.
